On September, 6 1984 in the Palace of Culture (belonging to the Novotrubny Plant) the first class of the Art Studio took palace. The head of the Studio — the graduate of Ekaterinbirg Art College named after Shadr Susanov Vladimir Ivanovich — named it «Izograf» in honour of Old Russian icon - painters.
Firstly, the Studio had been orientated to the grown - ups, that is adult amateur - artists as well as professionals. Those people could get some basic art education and to create the community of art - lovers, existing in the specific, peculiar atmosphere helping their art growth. One more aim of the Studio was the organization of regular exhibitions by the local artists.
During the first years of existance there had been lots of problems, mainly of organization. The essential support had been rendered by the Mayor of Pervouralsk (in that period) Portnov Sergei Fyodorovich.
There came a great support from Sverdlovsk (now Ekaterinburg) from Shootova Valentina Ivanovna (the head of the Cultural Department of the Region) and Haderi Nina Arsenivna (the art critic). They both helped the Studiou to survive.
On June, 15 1990 the Regional Council awarded the Studio «Izograf» with the title of Public Self-dependent Body. Later «Izograf» proved this title twice.
The Studio carries out less than 4-5 exhibitions a year. During the 20 years the great artistic fond had been stored, which is constantly enriched by the most successful works of modern amateur artists of «Izograf».
